Export any report from Deskwoot as a CSV file for further analysis.

Also available in:DeutschPortuguês

Deskwoot makes it easy to export any report as a CSV file so you can perform deeper analysis, share data with stakeholders, or build custom dashboards in your favorite spreadsheet application. Whether you need to review agent performance over the last quarter or audit conversation trends, a CSV export gives you the raw data you need to work with outside the platform.

What is included in a CSV export

Conversation exports include the following data fields: ID, status, priority, inbox, assigned agent, labels, contact info, timestamps, and CSAT rating. This comprehensive set of fields allows you to cross-reference metrics such as resolution time, agent workload, and customer satisfaction in a single file.

How to export a report as CSV

  1. Navigate to the Reports section from the main sidebar in your Deskwoot dashboard.
  2. Select the specific report you want to export (e.g., Conversations, Agent Performance, or CSAT).
  3. Use the available filters to narrow the data by date range, inbox, agent, label, or other criteria as needed.
  4. Click the Export or Download CSV button, typically located near the top-right corner of the report view.
  5. Your browser will download a .csv file that you can open in any spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice Calc.

Best practices

  • Filter before exporting: Apply date ranges and other filters before downloading to keep your file focused and manageable.
  • Use consistent naming: Rename your downloaded files with the date range and report type (e.g., conversations_jan2025.csv) so you can locate them easily later.
  • Schedule regular exports: For ongoing analysis, consider exporting on a weekly or monthly cadence to track trends over time.
  • Back up important exports: Store CSV files in a shared drive or cloud folder so team members can access historical data when needed.

Troubleshooting

  • Empty or incomplete file: Double-check your filters. A very narrow date range or restrictive filter combination may return no results.
  • Special characters look garbled: When opening the CSV, make sure your spreadsheet application is set to UTF-8 encoding to correctly display special characters and non-Latin scripts.
  • Large file takes time: Exports covering extensive date ranges with thousands of conversations may take a moment to generate. Allow the process to complete before clicking the button again.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export reports if I am not an admin?

Access to report exports depends on your account role and permissions. If you do not see the export option, contact your Deskwoot account administrator to verify your access level.

Is there a limit on how much data I can export?

There is generally no hard limit, but very large exports may take longer to process. Applying filters to reduce the dataset will speed up the download and produce more focused results.

Can I automate CSV exports?

Currently, CSV exports are initiated manually from the Reports section. For automated data workflows, check whether the Deskwoot API offers endpoints that meet your reporting needs.
