Overview
Customer support data is sticky. The conversation lives in the helpdesk, but the resulting actions belong elsewhere: bug reports go to Linear, contacts get synced to HubSpot, resolved conversations get logged in a spreadsheet, and high value customers get added to a warehouse for analytics. Zapier is the glue.
There are two ways to connect. The Deskwoot app for Zapier has 6 triggers (new conversation, new customer message, conversation assigned, conversation resolved, new contact, CSAT rating) and actions that start a conversation, reply, add a private note, assign, add a label, and find, create or update a contact. It signs in with a REST API token, which is part of the Enterprise plan.
On every other plan, Deskwoot sends 7 events to your Zaps through a Zapier catch hook: paste its URL under Settings, Integrations, Zapier and you are set. Catch hooks need a paid Zapier plan.
Common Zapier helpdesk patterns: a new conversation creates a Linear issue, a CSAT rating lands in a Google Sheet, a new contact goes to HubSpot, an assigned conversation pings a team chat. With the Deskwoot app, a form submission can also create the contact and start a conversation with them.
For teams with a lot of automation, Zapier plus Deskwoot replaces glue scripts that would otherwise live in Make.com, n8n or your own functions. Need every event to stay in the EU? Send it to your own endpoint with Deskwoot webhooks.
