How to delete your Deskwoot account and what happens to your data
If you've decided that Deskwoot is no longer the right fit for your team, you can permanently delete your account from the Account Settings page. Before you proceed, please read through this guide carefully — account deletion is irreversible, and all of your workspace data will be permanently removed.
How to Delete Your Account
- Go to Settings > Account Settings.
- Scroll down to the Danger Zone section.
- Click Delete account.
- Select your reason for leaving.
- You will be offered 2 months of Enterprise for free (a one-time offer). You can accept to stay or decline to continue with deletion.
- If you choose to continue, type your email address to confirm.
- Click Send confirmation email.
- Check your inbox and click the confirmation link. This link is valid for 24 hours.
- Your account will be deleted and you will be redirected to the homepage.
What Gets Deleted
Once deletion is confirmed, the following data is permanently removed:
- All conversations and messages
- All contacts and their data
- All settings and configurations
- All inboxes and channel connections
- All team members and roles
- All automation rules, macros, and saved filters
- All AI bot configurations and training data
- All help center content
What Gets Retained
In accordance with legal retention requirements, the following data is kept for up to 5 years:
- Billing and payment transaction records
- Invoice history
- Prepaid balance transaction logs
Important Notes
- Only the account administrator can delete the account.
- This action is irreversible — there is no way to recover your data after deletion.
- If you have an active Stripe subscription, it will be automatically cancelled upon deletion.
- The retention offer (2 months free Enterprise) can only be used once per account.
Best-Practice Tips Before You Delete
- Export your data first. Before initiating deletion, export any conversation transcripts, contact lists, or help center articles you may need in the future.
- Notify your team. All team members will lose access immediately upon deletion, so make sure everyone is informed ahead of time.
- Disconnect integrations. If you have active Shopify, WooCommerce, or other channel connections, consider disconnecting them manually beforehand to ensure a clean separation.
Troubleshooting
I didn't receive the confirmation email
Check your spam or junk folder. If the email still hasn't arrived after a few minutes, return to the Danger Zone section and click Send confirmation email again. Make sure you're entering the correct administrator email address.
My confirmation link expired
Confirmation links are valid for 24 hours. If yours has expired, simply restart the deletion process from Settings > Account Settings to generate a new link.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I reactivate my account after deletion?
No. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you'd like to use Deskwoot again in the future, you will need to create a brand-new account and set everything up from scratch.
What happens to my subscription and billing?
If you have an active Stripe subscription, it is automatically cancelled when your account is deleted. You will not be charged again. Billing records are retained for up to 5 years for legal compliance.
I'm not the administrator — can I request deletion?
Only the account administrator has permission to delete the account. If you need the account removed, please contact your administrator and ask them to follow the steps outlined above.
