Slack notifications
Connect Deskwoot to your Slack workspace to receive real-time notifications.
The Slack integration sends Deskwoot notifications into the Slack channels you choose, so your team sees new support activity without keeping the dashboard open all day. Once you connect your workspace, Deskwoot posts alerts about new conversations, new messages, and assignments straight into Slack, which helps people pick things up faster and stay in the loop.
How do I connect Slack to Deskwoot?
- In Deskwoot, go to Settings > Integrations > Slack.
- Click Connect.
- You'll land on Slack's authorization page. Pick the workspace you want to connect and review the permissions Deskwoot is asking for.
- Click Allow to authorize Deskwoot.
- You'll come back to Deskwoot, and the integration status should now read Connected.
After connecting, choose which Slack channel should receive the notifications. A dedicated channel (something like #deskwoot-notifications) works best so alerts don't get lost in general chatter.
What notifications does Slack get?
Deskwoot can post these events to your chosen channel:
- New conversations. You hear the moment a customer reaches out.
- New messages. You stay informed when a customer replies to an existing conversation.
- Assignments. You know right away when a conversation is assigned to you or your team.
Tips for a clean setup
- Use a dedicated channel. Sending alerts to a focused channel keeps them from getting buried under unrelated messages.
- Pin the channel. Ask your team to pin or star the notification channel in Slack so it stays visible in their sidebar.
- Match the channel to the team. If different teams own different inboxes, a clearly named channel makes it obvious who should act on each alert.
Troubleshooting
Notifications aren't showing up in Slack
- Check that the integration still reads Connected under Settings > Integrations > Slack.
- Confirm you've selected a Slack channel to receive notifications.
- Make sure the Deskwoot app hasn't been removed from your Slack workspace. A workspace admin can check this under Slack > Settings > Manage Apps.
You got a "re-authorize" prompt
Slack tokens can expire or be revoked. If that happens, disconnect the integration in Deskwoot and run the connection steps above again to create a fresh authorization.
