Twitter / X integration

Connect your Twitter (X) account to Deskwoot to manage direct messages from your shared inbox.

Prerequisites

You need a Twitter/X account with a developer app. Apply for developer access at developer.twitter.com if you have not already. Your app needs read and write permissions for Direct Messages.

Connecting to Deskwoot

In Deskwoot, go to Settings > Inboxes > Add Inbox and select 'Twitter'. Click 'Sign in with Twitter' and authorize Deskwoot to access your account. Select the Twitter account you want to connect.

How it works

When someone sends a Direct Message to your connected Twitter account, it appears as a new conversation in Deskwoot. Your agents reply from Deskwoot and the response is delivered as a Twitter DM. The customer's Twitter handle and profile picture are automatically added to their contact record.
